| Request permission to create one (1) Grade A position. This creation will not create an additional FTE in the Staffing Plan as one (1) Principal Clerk and one (1) Senior Clerk will be abolished. There are significant duties, tasks, and supervision requirements within child welfare work that necessitate a level of supervision by a Grade A Supervisor. Additional requirements have been handed down from the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) requiring additional child welfare oversight regarding disparities, quality improvement, blind removals, quality reviews and expansion of the kin first philosophy which require the competency and knowledge consistent with the position of Grade A. These demands have coincided with work force shortages and significant staff turnover resulting in not only a decreased level of experience across our workforce, but an increased burden on these higher-level positions to sufficiently support the overall team.
